General Rules of PLS

General Rules  

1. A proper code of conduct will be maintained during the meetings. Use of foul or abusive language can lead to termination of membership from society. 
2. Smoking, taunting and chit-chats are prohibited during meetings.  
3. Everyone should respect others and their perspective.  
4. Every newly inducted member will work as a Junior member for 1 year. After that, he/she will be promoted to the status of Senior Member.  
5. Promotion to the executive council will entirely depend on the performance of the individual. This will be decided by the present hierarchy.  
6. Only senior and executive council members are eligible to apply for posts. 
7. Only senior members and executive council will vote in the elections.  
8. Elections will  be conducted for the posts of “President”, “Vice President” and “General Secretary” . In case of  any vacancy of post, the President with the consultation of the advisor will select the candidate. The Treasurer will be selected by the Elected posts. 
9. The vote of the previous council will be counted as 2 (All the 4 posts) and all other senior members will be counted as one.  In case of any ex- council members  competing in the elections, his vote will not be counted as 2. 
10. An Official of any other Society is not eligible for any post in PLS.
11. Posts  of  ‘Information Divison’, ‘Head Literature’, ‘Head Arts’ and ‘Head Pi-Reactivx’ will be appointed by the President, Vice President,  General Secretary and Treasurer.  
12. If a member on a post is not performing his/her duties well enough, the executive council, with the consent of the Advisor; will have the right to question him/her anytime. This can also result in the disqualification of any elected post. 
14. A record of the performance of each and every member will be kept . If a member would not attend 2 consecutive meetings, his/her membership will be suspended. 
15. Innovative ideas and suggestions will always be welcomed.

By the Grace of Almighty Allah, PIEAS Literary Society has successfully initiated PIEAS’ very first online magazine and newsletter by the name of "Zeest", which means life. It will be soon available for download from official website of PIEAS, www.pieas.edu.pk .

The tests and interviews of the Editorial Board of "Dareecha 2013-14" was recently conducted in which out of a total of 34 student; 10 were selected.

The members shall now communicate to their respective Heads for any suggestion or notifications etc. Heads shall be evaluating each member and are responsible for selecting teams for each event. In case a member feels that the Head is not responding accordingly, he/she may contact the President or Information Secretary so that the issue may be resolved. Members are requested to keep their personal conflicts out of society.

After the success of the 2^nd All PIEAS Arts exhibition in 2912, PIEAS Literary Society brings to you the “3^rd All PIEAS Arts Exhibition 2013” which will be bigger and better.

Impressed by Gulgee and Ibrahim Chughtai? Want to be a great artist like them? Didn't find a suitable platform ever? We at PLS, mindful of the talent we have at PIEAS, are arranging a perfect platform for you to showcase your work to everyone and show everyone that we arent just a bunch of people who know n.

 Come forth; Give the artist inside you a chance!

Make a perfect piece of art and submit it to us. Your work will be displayed on the annual arts exhibition and will be returned back to you after the event.
The best pieces will be awarded with shield and all participants will receive participation certificates.

For participation:

·        Please contact the persons mentioned at the end of this notice and inform them about the art material you will be requiring for your work piece.

·        Collect the material from the concerned person and start working on your painting.

·        Along with the painting, you’ll be required to provide us a handwritten description about your work piece (Word Limit: 60 words)

·        The deadline to submit your work is  24^th October 2013.
